Today July 10th, 2020 The Bahamas is celebrating its 47th year of Independence. To mark this day during what could be a better year, I decided to team up again with dancer / choreographer Myrkeeva Johnson to create this small tribute to Bahamian Music featuring two of my favourite Bahamian artist; Cyril “Dry Bread” Ferguson and Ronnie Butler.
Working with Myrkeeva is always a breeze and the results are always stunning. When I thought about how I would pay tribute to the music of The Bahamas on this Independence Day, I knew she would bring the energy to the set and help create a masterpiece.

I have always been intrigued with the music of Cyril “Dry Bread” Ferguson, which I always described as a Rake and Scrape Funk that may have been before its time. I used the energy in his music to drive the vibe and story in this clip, while setting the pace in the intro with one of my favourite Ronnie Butler cuts “Native Woman”.
